About SmileAI
SmileAI is a supportive health platform designed for gingival disease management. It connects users (mentees/patients) directly with their assigned doctor or mentor, who is responsible for guiding their progress, sharing advice, assigning tasks or events, and providing motivational support.
The app is intended for educational and supportive purposes only. It is not a substitute for clinical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care. Doctors and mentors on the platform do not provide official medical diagnoses or prescribe treatments through the app.
What Data We Collect
- Account info: Name, email, password (hashed), profile photo (optional), role (doctor, mentor, mentee), bio (optional), location (optional), phone (optional).
- App activity: Messages, chat history, notifications, points, mentor/doctor assignments, medication reminders, feedback, and exam results.
- Device info: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token for push notifications.
- AI chat: Messages sent to the AI assistant may be processed by third-party AI services (e.g., Google Gemini).
How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account.
- To connect you with your assigned doctor or mentor.
- To enable chat, reminders, notifications, and progress tracking.
- To send push notifications (via FCM).
- To provide AI-powered health advice (if you use the AI chat feature).
- To improve app features and user experience.
How We Share Your Data
- We do not sell your data.
- We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, storage, and notifications.
- AI chat messages may be sent to third-party AI providers (e.g., Google Gemini) for processing.
- We may share anonymized, aggregated data for analytics and research.
Data Security
- All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (AES-256 via Firebase).
- We use access controls to protect your data.
- We do not store your password in plain text.
Data Retention & Deletion
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app’s Settings screen.
- Upon deletion, your profile, messages, reminders, and all personal data are permanently erased from our servers (Firebase).
- Some anonymized analytics may be retained for app improvement.

Children’s Privacy
SmileAI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us for removal.
